James Corley

James Edward (Shorty) Corley of Moundville, Alabama passed on May 26th, 2024 at the age of 58 at DCH medical Center. Memory Chapel Funeral Home will hold a visitation, Thursday May 30th, from 6-8 pm. A graveside service will be held Friday May 31st, at Oakhill Cemetery in Moundville at 11:00 Am, with Bro. Scott Stevens presiding.

Shorty was preceded in death by his father; James Thamer Corley and his mother Peggy Cook Corley. He is survived by his daughter Rachel Corley Gaddy (Tyler), sons; Christopher Edward Corley (Courtney) and Garrett Corley. Grandchildren; Davis and Baker Gaddy, his sisters; Katelyn Corley Grindstaff (Cohutta) And Rhonda Doran (Mark), and his brother; Gary Corley (Christy). Niece and nephew; Logan and Lauren Corley, mother and father-in-law; Eugene and Joyce McClain.

Pallbearers will be; Chip Jordan, Terry Kelley, Trent Owens, Scotty King, Adam Lee and Logan Corley.

Honorary pallbearers are; Hale County High School Class of 1984, Turner Industries, Hunt Oil, and all his many friends.

Shorty was a loving father, peepaw, brother and friend to many, he loved watching his grand boys play baseball and enjoyed teaching them to hunt and fish. He was a true Alabama fan and the best grill master around. To know him was to love him. He will be missed by everyone he came in contact with through the years.
