James "Louie" Hawthorne

Louie is preceded in death by his loving wife, Sylvia Jean Hawthorne; parents, Alberta and Eloise Hawthorne; siblings, Douglas Hawthorne, Joanne Marlowe, Jerry Hawthorne, A.G. Hawthorne, Buddy Hawthorne, and Bettye Strickland.

He is survived by daughter, Rhonda Lancaster (Karl); son, Dennis Kelly (Tina); sisters, Jenny Jones and Allene Madison; brother, Phillip Hawthorne; grandchildren, Ashley Grey (Blake), Andrew Lancaster (Tyler), Jennifer Tyra (JB); great-grandchildren, Karleigh Grey, Sawyer Grey, Avery Lancaster, Grayson Tyra, and Jovi Tyra.

Louie enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family. He owned Hawthorne Septic Tank Service for 50+ years. He raised beagle puppies. He loved horses and the outdoors. He will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers are Corey Dawkins, Andrew Lancaster, Wade Vaughn, Chris Madison, Keith Simmons, and Sonny Hawthorne.

Honorary pallbearers are Tuscaloosa County Health Department and the family would like to give a special thanks to caregiver Michelle Vanderburg she was a true blessing to Louie and his family.

A visitation for Louie will be held Sunday, November 26, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35405. A funeral service will occur Sunday, November 26, 2023 at 2:00 PM, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35405. A burial will occur Sunday, November 26, 2023 at 2:45 PM at Memory Hill Gardens, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35405.
