James Edward Mink

James Edward Mink, age 66 of Duncanville, Ala., went home to his Lord and Savior July 14, 2015, surrounded by family and friends at Hospice of West Alabama. James was a man that served God, his family and his country. He was a loving husband and father who gave himself selflessly. His church family at Little Sandy Baptist Church was as important to him as his own.He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Twilla Mink; brothers, Charles, Sr. and Tommy Mink; sister, Julie Sue Mink; and his nephews, Charles "Buckshot" Mink and Terry Mink.Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Brenda Mink; daughters, Angelia Alexander (Chris) of Duncanville and Jamie Montz of Mobile; son, Joseph Mink (Sherri) of Moundville; sisters, Joan Hammond (John) of Peterson, Nancy Rubio (Al) of Tuscaloosa, Lily Mae Sawyer of Mobile, and Molly Spencer (Ken) of Tuscaloosa; and grandchildren, Brittany Carroll (Eric) of Duncanville, Drew Champion of Duncanville, Blake Montz of Mobile and Jordan Mink of Moundville.Pallbearers will be Mike Hammond, Ray Hammond, Jesse Craver, Shane Mink, David Rubio, Chris Rubio, Sean Rubio and John Mink. Visitation will be Friday, July 17, 2015, from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. A military funeral will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 2 p.m., at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Brandon Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.
