

Hula Jean (Jeana) Bond Cramer, age 100, of Tuscaloosa, passed away March 16, 2025 at Heritage Nursing Home. Services will be 2:00 at Forest Lake United Methodist Church with Dr. Kevin Thomas officiating on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Jeana is survived by her daughter, Becky McCarn (Ken) of Charlotte, NC; two sons, Craig (Kathleen) of Tuscaloosa and Randy (Cathy) of Birmingham; grandchildren Kate Barker (John) of Nashville, TN; Meredith Baxter (Coe) of Tuscaloosa; Anna Wilson (Walter) of Birmingham; and Scott Cramer of Birmingham; great- grandchildren, Hudson, Campbell, & Anderson Baxter of Tuscaloosa ; Dylan and Wyatt Paller of Mableton, GA, and Jackson, Eleanor, & Madelyn Wilson of Birmingham ; step grandchildren James Randall (Cindy) of Birmingham; John Randall (Meagan) of Tuscaloosa; and Mary Margaret Sullivan (Brandon) of Chattanooga, TN; and step great-grandchildren, Jane Price and Margaret Randall of Birmingham; and Eva, Lucas, and Ruthie Randall of Tuscaloosa; and Alden Sullivan of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Dr. Dale L. Cramer and granddaughter, Jennifer Paller. She was born August 24, 1924 to Riley and Viola Bond in Equality, IL. After moving to Dixon, IL where she attended high school, she met Dale. The two married in 1946 after he returned from World War II. The couple moved to Tuscaloosa in 1958 when Dale became an Economics professor at the University of Alabama.
Prior to her retirement, she worked part-time at The University of Alabama’s Child Development Center. She served as a volunteer at the West Alabama Rehab Center for a number of years, and as a Recording Secretary for the Spring Gala (formerly the Mall Ball.) Jeana was also a volunteer in the meals-on-wheels program at the Forest Lake United Methodist Church, and at Hospice of West Alabama. She was a charter member and officer of the Tuscaloosa Ballroom Dance Club.
“Meme” was actively involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren, personalizing each relationship. Her family was most blessed for having her. She was the picture of love and a special gift to all who knew her.
Active pallbearers will be John Barker, Coe Baxter, Scott Cramer, James Randall, John Randall, and Walter Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Forest Lake United Methodist Church, Hospice of West Alabama, or a favorite charity.
