Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, James Paul Davis; father, Henry Prince Lewis; mother, Flora Lou Taylor; her sisters, Helen Ray Pate, Bessie Lee Ellis, Virgina Mayfield, and Wanda Faye Hollis; her brother, Charles Prince Lewis; and her niece, Stephanie Louise Lewis.
She is survived by her sisters, Ann Lewis Skelton and Frances Louise Lewis; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Whiskers Davis.
On December 15, 1942, Prince and Flora Lewis welcomed Jeanette Maxine Lewis. Jeanette was a force of nature – a beautiful daughter, wonderful sister, loving wife, and influential Aunt. She was a blessing to all who knew her, and she will be missed. She was the anchor that kept James Davis straight for 56 years of marriage as they moved from Tuscaloosa to St. Louis, Missouri, Mobile, Alabama, Lake Charles, Louisiana, and the Ozarks. She was also the compass that helped them find their way back home to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where they lived happily ever after.
