NORTHPORT – Jerry Overstreet, age 75, passed away April 19, 2021. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2021 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Mr. Overstreet was preceded in death by his parents, Rosie and Woodard Overstreet; sister, Susie Godwin; and brothers, Tommy and Joe Overstreet.
He left behind his wife of 53 years, Virginia Overstreet; his daughters, Carmia Alexander, Donna McNatt, Lisa Turner (David), Mary Robles, Valinda Avery, and Jennifer Duckworth (David); sisters, Louis Morris Presley, Mary Overstreet, and Diane Board; brother, Jim Overstreet; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Jerry was born in Atmore, Alabama on December 15, 1945. He moved to Tuscaloosa and married the love of his life on November 18, 1968. He dearly enjoyed his career working on, and driving, riverboat barges. After retirement he spent most of his time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he thought the world of. He was a member at New Beginning Family Worship Center.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Marcum, Jerry Marcum, Keithen Noland, Matthew Duckworth, John Turner, and David Turner.
