Juanita “Nita” Brown, age 77, of Tuscaloosa, died Sept. 19, 2012, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. “Jay” Brown; her son, Tony Ray Hallman; her mother, Gertrude Patton; and her father, Barney Patton.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Tammy Hallman of Texas; her stepdaughter, Charlotte Thrift; her stepson, Jerry Brown of California; her cousins, Christine Hendrix and Christine Sharp; special friends, Mike Ellison and Charlotte Hendrix; and two grandsons.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Englebert, Jamie Hendrix, Ron Carpenter, Donnie Daily, Jimmy Bohanon, and Tommy Hallman.
Honorary pallbearers are Margene and Frank Wires, Erma and Kevin Elliott, Johnny Fay Martin, Darlene Webb, Bob and Jane Brown, Charlotte Hendrix, Mike Ellison, Chris Hendrix, Chris Sharp, friends of Alberta City, Shirley Johnson, and Diane Salter.
