Larry Eugene Smith

Larry Eugene Smith, age 76, of Northport, Alabama passed away on April 15, 2024 at DCH Regional Medical Center. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 20 2024 at 2:00 PM with Bro. Gene Dockery officiating at Memory Hill Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Webb and Ruby Smith. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Junkin Smith; daughters, Pamela Parker (Tim) and Vivian McKinley (Tim); sister, Ruth Hollingsworth; brothers, Charles Smith and Robert Smith; grandchildren, Megan Parker, Mary Katherine Olive (Austin), Ethan McKinley and Lane McKinley; great grandchild, Everleigh Olive.

Larry was born July 24, 1947 to Webb and Ruby Smith. He grew up in Holt, Alabama with his sister, Ruth and brothers, Charles and Robert. He graduated from Holt High School where he met his sweetheart Katherine. They married and had two daughters, Pam and Vivian. He served in the US Army for three years which included a tour of duty in the Vietnam War. Larry was a family man who enjoyed cooking and loved to fish and hunt. He will be missed by all including his best buddy – his dog – Drake.

Serving as pallbearers are Dan Junkin, Kenneth Junkin, Tim Parker, Tim McKinley, Ethan McKinley, Lane McKinley, Austin Olive, Wayne Junkin, Charles Smith and Robert Smith .
