Lela Jane Sanders

NORTHPORT – Lela Jane Sanders, age 84, of Northport, Ala., died August 28, 2018, at home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2018, in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Dr. John Nixon officiating and Heritage Chapel Funeral & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gaynor Sanders and mother, Lela Mae Sanders.

Survivors include her brother, Merrill "Buddy" Sanders (Patricia) of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; nephews, Gregory "Greg" Sanders (Polly) of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Gary Sanders (Angie) of Brusly, La.; great nephews, Eric Sanders of Northport, Ala., Nic Jones, Blake Richard and Austin Horton, all of Brusly, La.; and great nieces, Marina Sanders Richard (Jerome) of Addis, La. and Lela LiLyana "Lily" Sanders of Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Lela retired from DCH Health System after more than 25 years of service as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Honorary pallbearers are Sandra Warren, Bonnie Faye Brinyark, Emma Lou Miles, Domita Shelby, Northport Baptist Church and Hospice staff.
