Marty was born on October 3, 1939 to parents, Martin V. Selman, Sr. and Marie Berry Selman of Elrod, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Sam and Ada Berry.
Marty received a Bachelor’s of Science in Commerce and Business Administration from the University of Alabama in 1964. He owned and operated Crimson Eagle, Inc. in Tuscaloosa for over 40 years where he was involved in government housing remodernization across the Southeast. Survivors include his daughter, Vicki Hannah (Rick), grandsons Adam Martin Johnston and Blake Hannah (Kimberly), great granddaughter Charlie Blake, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family expresses their appreciation to Dr. Ross Vaughn and Staff, Martha McFarland, James J. Jenkins, Tim Fogg, special friend John Lesley, since they were 15 years of age, and the dedicated caregivers who selflessly took care of him for many years prior to his death. Special thanks to Susie Hewett, Sondra Phillips, Don Tyson, Kiana Simmons, Tammy Ayers, Mesha Jackson, San Norris, Emily Baxter, Anna Morris, Milton Brown, and Kim Watson.
A private graveside service for family will be held on September 17, at 1100 a.m. at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Rev. Mark McCormick officiating.
