Mary Alice Lyons Jones

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Jones; father, Millard C. Lyons and mother, Mary Lee Rhodes Lyons; siblings, Idell Compton, Ruby Hisaw, James W. Lyons, and Millard C. Lyons Jr.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth T. Jones (Kathy) of Northport, AL; daughter, Katrina J. Williams (Mitch) of Buhl, AL; grandchildren, Joe Williams, Katie Owens (Chad), Brian Rubio (Meagon), Morgan Hulsey (Adam), and Kevin Jones; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Mary was born in 1931 in Hale County, AL. She was a graduate of Hale County High School and The University of Alabama with a MA in education. Mary retired after 27 years as a Librarian in Jefferson and Tuscaloosa County School Systems. She enjoyed traveling, Alabama sports, and reading.

Pallbearers are Keith Jones, Chad Owens, Joe Williams, Brian Rubio, Adam Hulsey, and Kevin Jones.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Leonard Jones and staff of Tuskaloosa Internal Medicine, staff and residents of North River Village Assisted Living, staff and residents of Morning Pointe Memory Care, members of Dr. Hayse Boyd's Good Samaritan Sunday School class of FBC, Tuscaloosa, AL, current and former employees of Tuscaloosa County School System.

The family offers their sincere appreciation for her outstanding care given by staff of Hospice of West Alabama.

A visitation for Mary will be held Friday, February 2, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35405. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 3:00 PM at Memory Hill Gardens, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35405.
