Melvin Jones

Melvin Jones, age 92, of Coker, Alabama passed away on August 2, 2024 at his home. A Graveside Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on August 6, 2024 at Memory Hill Gardens with Dusty Jones officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Graveside Service at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Melvin is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Carrie B. Jones; wife of 64 years, Barbara Ann Jones; grandson, Treavor Jones and Joshua Vann; daughter-in-law, Deanna Jones; brothers, Oscar Jr. and Charles W. Jones.

He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Terry (David); son, Mike, Jones (Debbie), Tim Jones, and Jeff Jones (Kristy); grandchildren, Breana McCool, Raven Sartain, Logan Jones, Olivia Jones, Dusty, Bo, Chase Jones, Ashley Wetterling, Justin Williams, Jody Roberts and Haley Vann; numerous great-grandchildren.

Melvin retired from the VA Medical Center after 25 years. He served in the US Army and Army National Guard. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, spending time with his best friend, Mayor George Van Tassel. He was a member of Coker Baptist Church. He loved his family, grandchildren and great-grands. Pallbearers will be Chase Jones, Justin Williams, David Terry, Chase McCool, Logan Jones and Jeff Jones. Honorary Pallbearers are ACG Hospice, Laura and Nickie, Dr. Eugene Alldredge and Staff, and Norman and Jane Gray. In lieu of flowers please make donations to one's favorite charity or ACG Hospice.
