Norma Louise Echols

Norma Louise West Echols, age 92, died on April 11, 2022. A Celebration of Life service for Norma Echols was held on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Heritage Chapel in Tuscaloosa. She was laid to rest at Memory Hill Gardens Cemetery in Tuscaloosa. Reverend Richard B. Hanna, Chaplain, Kirkwood by the River officiated the services and Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations a Dignity Memorial Provider directed.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Dona Louise Echols Green and Gary Green of Hoover, Alabama; and son and daughter-in-law, Edward Glen Echols and Jody McKee Echols of Greensboro, North Carolina. Surviving grandchildren include Jan Louise Keiser (James), Carson O’Neill Green (Kelly), Katherine West Echols Speaker (Edward), Mollie Glen Echols, and Joseph Collier Alejandro Echols; and great grandchildren Jesse Keiser Andrews (Caleb), Jake Keiser, Jackson Keiser, Carson Green, Jr., Reily Green, Edward Joseph Archambault, Tillar Louise Speaker, and Judson West Speaker.

Mrs. Echols was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Joseph Clint West; her husband, Don Edward Echols; grandson Gary Jason Green; and granddaughter Anna Louise Echols Archambault.

A native of Tuscaloosa, Mrs. Echols spent most of her adult life in Vestavia Hills with her beloved husband of seventy years, Don Edward Echols. She was most recently a happy resident of the Kirkwood by the River retirement community in Birmingham. Mrs. Echols was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood.
