PETERSON – Ola Mae Pardue Goree, age 84, of Peterson, Ala., passed from this earthly home on April 1, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa. A “Precious Memories” Celebration will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2021 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Pardue and Bro. Jessie Ray Littleton, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Ms. Goree was preceded in death by her father, Rev. L.J. Pardue and mother, Minnie Ola Wideman Pardue of McCalla, Ala.; three brothers, Tillman Pardue, Julius Pardue, and Donnie Pardue; and two sisters, Minnie Woods and Doris Hill.
She is survived by her children, Calvin Smith (Vickie) of Cottondale, Ala., Donnie Littleton (Audrey Sue) of Camden, Ala., Diane Ray of Pineville, La., Roxie Ann Milligan of Peterson, Ala., Karen Sue Wright of Moundville, Ala., Ricky Littleton of Montgomery, Ala., Elton Lamar Baugh (Cindy) of Brent, Ala., and step-son, Jason Goree of Fosters, Ala.; two sisters, Mary Kate McCellan of Gadsden, Ala. and Carolyn Johnson of Green Pond, Ala.; along woth a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Ms. Goree was a devout Christian and a member of the Fresh Anointing Church of God in Brookwood. As a child of God, she enjoyed praising the Lord through her singing. She wrote the song entitled “Little White Church on the Side of the Road,” which quickly became a favorite of the congregation.
Ola Mae’s greatest passion and love were her family, flowers, plants and gardening. She was a woman with a vibrant personality and had a zest for life. She will always be remembered for her compassion and generosity.
Pallbearers will be Scott Smith, Chris Smith, Joseph Smith, Will Littleton, Timothy Milligan, and David Burt.
Honorary pallbearers are Scott Sellers and Ezra Martin.
