Ruth Evans Arnold

TUSCALOOSA Ruth Evans Arnold, age 62, of Tuscaloosa, died Sept. 10, 2011, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Father Frank officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by Dr. and Mrs. Robert Evans, Dr. and Mrs. Hubert Arnold, and her granddaughter, Kami Lynn Watkins.

Survivors include her husband, Terry W. Arnold; daughter, Elizabeth Arnold Watkins; sons, Hunter Arnold (Heather Perez) and Skyler Arnold; sister, Mary Lucy Evans Woodard; and brother, Billy Evans.

If you were to ask anyone about Ruth, they would be sure to tell you that she was one of the most giving and unselfish people that you would ever meet. She never had a harsh word to say about anyone and was always concerned about everyone's well-being before hers. Ruth was the best mother, wife, sister, and friend that anyone could have wanted.

She was a graduate of Decatur High School and attended UNA. She was a long time active member at St. Matthias Church in Tuscaloosa. She worked locally for ABH Enterprises Inc. She had a wonderful group of friends she often referred to as “family” at TCC and was the reigning women's club champion.

We were all fortunate to have had her in our lives, and we should all strive to be as kind and generous to others as she was; that is what she would have wanted for us all.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Arnold, James Arnold, Jaime Arnold, Walker Evans, Randy Williams, and Steve Blackburn.

Honorary pallbearers are Sharon and Randy Williams; Susan and Jimmy Case; Josh, Jared, and Taylor Williams; and friends from the Tuscaloosa Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to pancan.org in memory of Ruth Arnold.
