Shirley Ray Vines, age 72, of Tuscaloosa, died July 23, 2014, at Trinity Medical Center. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Memory Chapel with Dean Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and sister. Survivors include her husband, Stanley Dean Vines of Tuscaloosa; daughter, Shelly Vines Thornton of Houston, Texas; sons, Scotty Dean Vines of Helena and Richie Charles Vines of Tuscaloosa; and grandchildren, Scotty Vines, Megan Atencio, Ashley Eason, Ben Vines, Ryan Thornton and Cora Linke. Shirley was born in Savannah, Ga. and moved to Tuscaloosa, Ala. in 1966. She was very involved with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and loved working on her grandparent's farm. She was a very lovely woman and beautiful mother. She was the master of making macaroni and cheese. Pallbearers will be Scotty Vines, Jr., Ben Vines, Ryan Thornton, Karlis Atencio, Jacob Vines and Jeremy Vines. Honorary pallbearers are Trinity Medical Center CCU, Dr. Karl Schroeder, Dr. William Lapidus, Andy Liles, Lawrence Genery, Kevin Hewlett, Harold Witten, and Bill Setzer.
