

Thomas Jennings Daniels Jr, known as “Tommy” by all his friends and family, passed from this life on August 15, 2025, at DCH Regional Medical Center. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Memory Hill Gardens, in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Tommy was born on May 11, 1967, to his parents, Thomas J Daniels Sr, and Wanda Swindle Daniels in Anniston AL. His family moved to Tuscaloosa AL in the spring of 1970. He was raised in Tuscaloosa, attending Skyland Elementary School, middle school at Holy Spirit Catholic School, and graduated from high school at West End Christian School in 1985. He was very popular among his friends and actively participated in several organizations and events throughout his younger life. He loved animals and almost any kind of outdoor activity.
Tommy joined the military in the late 80’s, proudly serving with the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Division, at Twenty-nine Palms CA. He saw action through his deployments in “Desert Storm” (his unit being the first boots on the ground in Iraq), and then Afghanistan, as a field artillery cannoneer. After being honorably discharged from the military, Tommy spent close to twenty years working for Russel Lee Floor and Tile, specializing in hardwood installations. He was very good at what he did and made many acquaintances throughout his years working for Russel Lee.
Tommy was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Swindle Daniels, his maternal grandparents. James and Mary Frances Swindle Owens, and his paternal grandparents James C. and Nettie M. Daniels.
He is survived by his son Cody Daniels, his father Thomas Daniels Sr, sister Diana Lynn Jacobs, nephew Waylon Dickerson Jr, and nieces Autumn Rose and Danielle Marie Dickerson.
