He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Nathanael Nix and Della Mae Nix of Phil Campbell, Alabama.
Tommy is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Audrey Ann Nix; a brother, Hugh Don Nix (Bonnie) of Palmyra, Virginia, a sister, Barbara Weide (Rick) of Cleveland, Alabama, his daughter, Tammy Patton (Brian) of Cumming, Georgia; three grandchildren, Joshua Patton (fiancée Jasmine), Rebekah Gregory (Devon), and Emily Nehlsen (Maggie); as well as two great-grandchildren, Levi Gregory and Miller Gregory.
A proud graduate of Phil Campbell High School, Tommy went on to dedicate 41 years of service to the Alabama Department of Transportation, retiring as a District Engineer. Known for his sharp mind and steady hands, he was also a skilled, self-taught television repairman—a hobby he enjoyed for over three decades.
An avid fisherman, he especially loved crappie fishing and spent many peaceful hours on the water...always spending more time tending to his daughter’s fishing line than his own.
He and his wife, affectionately known as “Miss Ann,” were longtime members of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where they shared their faith and community.
Tommy will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering dedication to his family, and a lifetime of hard work and integrity.
