
He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Bennie Kate Hallman Bobo; parents, Walter Vernon Bobo Sr. and Eula Mae Gammon; sister, Wilma Nell Bobo-KuyKendall.
Survivors include his daughters, Denise Cobbs (Terry), Deborah (Alan) Roberts; sons, DaltonBobo (Magaria), Daryll Bobo (Elaine), Dewayne Bobo Pat Bailey (Rheana); brother, Wiley Bobo (Carol); grandchildren, Elise Strickland (Drew), Lacey Anders (Bryan), Beth Boothe, Joni Hudson (Todd), Courtney Roberts, Jennifer Taylor, Kelley Bond (Scott), Wesley Cobbs (Sylvia), Josh Cobbs, Kimberly Silas (Mark), and Steve Cobbs; 28 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild.
Walter stepped into heaven surrounded by his loving family early Friday morning, December 9, 2022. He lived a good life and was a man of integrity devoted to his wife and family. He loved and served his lord. He attended Carrolls Creek Baptist Church until his health started to decline. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, great-great-grandfather, and father in law. He served his country in the United States Navy with pride. After his retirement from Tuscaloosa Police (airport) he enjoyed gardening and fishing with his grandchildren. He was a man that loved his family and enjoyed life.
Pallbearers will be Josh Cobbs, Wesley Cobbs, Logan Boothe, Todd Hudson, Bryan Anders, Drew Strickland and Scott Bond.
Honorary Pallbearers will be The Staff of Alabama Hospice Care of Tuscaloosa and members of Carrolls Creek Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Eagles Wings.
A visitation for Walter will be held Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35405, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
