Harvey, lovingly known as Pops, passed peacefully into his heavenly home on January 9, 2026, after a long and courageous battle. He faced life with strength, determination, and a joyful spirit that never backed down.
Harvey was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and spent most of his childhood in Hissop, a small community in Coosa County. He attended the University of Alabama.
Harvey was a man of many talents and passions—an artist, actor, gardener, leather craftsman, and fisherman. He loved the outdoors, cooking, performing, and never met a stranger. A proud Alabama fan with a great sense of humor, Harvey brought laughter and warmth wherever he went.
He was deeply devoted to serving others, especially children and teens, through Sunday school and volunteer work with Royal Family and TRAC. Above all, Harvey cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to Eva, a loving father, proud grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He taught those he loved to work hard, dream big, and choose happiness.
Harvey will be remembered for his big heart, unforgettable hugs, and the lasting legacy of love he leaves behind.
Although Harvey worked many different jobs over the years, the one he was most proud of was his 17 years with the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles. He retired in December 2021, grateful for the opportunity to serve.
Pallbearers will be Terry Burns, Chris Carlisle, Keith Vandiver, Joey Lay, Tony Bordeaux, Warner House, Parker Ashcraft, Hunter Jacobs
