Nov. 21, 1955 - June 13, 2012
Dr. David Richard Long passed away due to a torn aorta on Wednesday June 13, 2012. He was surrounded by his wife, children, parents, family and loved ones.
Dave was born in Provo, Utah November 21, 1955 to Joyce Maxfield and Richard Crowther Long. He attended school at Orem High where he participated in band and varsity football. His football career continued on to his college career at Snow College. Dave put his college career aside to serve an honorable mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the San Diego California Mission. After his mission he continued his education at Weber State, BYU, and UVCC getting all the required pre-med classes for chiropractic college.
Dave then pursued his career in chiropractic medicine and attended LACC in Orange County California. There he was introduced to the love of his life, Diane Harding, and they were soon sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan, Utah Temple on December 19, 1987. After graduating with his degree of Doctor of Chiropractic, Dave and Diane moved to Twin Falls, Idaho with their young family. Dave lived here for the rest of his life and was very involved within the community that he loved. Dave and Diane opened their home to any and everyone. They were boosters for CSI and hosted close to 90 students through the years. They were named "Booster Parents of the Year" in 2011. He loved this community. He willingly donated his time and skills to the rodeos in the area. He enjoyed working with the athletes around the community, serving his amazing patients every day-he loved his patients. He faithfully served in the church as a bishopric member with Bishop Mike Traveller, Murray Clark, and Monte Crandall. Most of all he loved serving his family. He was a devoted husband and father and no one ever questioned his love for his family. Some knew him as 'Daddy Dave' and some knew him as 'Dr. Long,' but everyone that knew him knew that he was a great man. He will truly be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Harding Long, his sons Trevor, Tyler, and Tyson, and his two little girls Tiffanie and Taylor. He is also survived by his parents, Richard and Joyce Long Orem, Utah; as well as his brothers and sisters, Bob (Gail) Long, Alpine, Utah; Ken (Cathrie) Long of Tallahassee, Florida; Kathy (Jim) Burgess, Westpoint, Utah; James (Jolie) Long Henderson, Nevada; Lisa Ann (Jason) Almberg, Lehi, Utah. He was preceded in death by a younger brother, Glen Long.
