He was born in Twin Falls, Idaho to Sam and Florence Thornton and passing away at age 85. He lived in Murtaugh then moving to Eden. Where the family started the family ranch Thornton Agnes Ranch.
After graduating from High School in 1950 he soon enlisted in the Air Force serving as an Air policemen with tours in the Philippines and the Korean War. He was honorably discharged from the service.
Returning home he married Mavis Hagen from this union they had five children and later divorced. He married Billie Scott adopted her two children and having one of their own later divorcing. After moving to Sacramento he married Joyce Flynn soon after divorcing. He meet Colleen they were married for 22 years where they lived out his remaining years with love and devotion.
For most of his life he was a long haul trucker working for Ambrose trucking. Later buying his own truck and leasing himself out to Amrose and Apple trucking. He continued trucking before retiring in his seventies. After his retirement he had passion for photography soon became a business HIS Image.
He was a devout in his faith giving his time to many Christian organizations.
He was survived by his wife Colleen, Brother Robert (Carol) Thornton, Sister Wilma (Bob) Thornton and his children
Dan (Pat) Thornton, Tommy Thornton, Lori (Ren) Thompson, Jay Thornton, Bruce Thornton, Christine Thornton and Jamie Pence.
He loved and took great pride in his Ten Grandchildren and Two Great grandchildren.
He his proceeded in death by his father and mother. Sister Wanda Blissner and his son Lloyd Earl Thornton.
He will be honored in a graveside service at Sunset Memorial Park 2296 Kimberly Rd. in Twin Falls at 10am.
All family and friends are invited and appreciated to join. There will be a no host lunch after.
He will be greatly missed and his legacy will live on.
