Martha Ruth (Williams) Gibson, 88, passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Martha was born January 5, 1923 at Emporia, Virginia to Russell Wilbur Williams and Lucy Ruth Tudor. Martha met the love of her life, James Gibson, and was married March 7, 1942. Martha followed her husband on many journeys all over the world while he served our country as a career soldier. They finally came to settle in Twin Falls, Idaho, purchasing a home and nicknaming the house ”Done Roamin” and lived there for 47 years.
Martha was a gentle “Southern” woman. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
Martha is survived by her 5 children, Susan Gass of Twin Falls; Nancy Maniskas of Twin Falls; Jim (Tina) Gibson of Twin Falls; Martha (Richard) Reid of Preston and Chip (Jody) Gibson of Twin Falls; as well as her 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Lucy Williams, husband, James Gibson along with 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
A celebration of Martha’s life will be held as a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Bruce Stevens officiating. A viewing for family and friends will take place from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at White Mortuary, “Chapel by the Park”, 136 4th Ave. East, Twin Falls.
