

Marvin LeRoy Vanden Bosch 81, of Jerome Idaho died in his own home on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 with his family by his side. Marvin was born in Chandler, Minnesota on December 3, 1932 to Peter and Alice Vanden Bosch. He was the only son and the third of five children. He fell in love and married Jeannette Reitsma on February 4, 1953 in Chandler Minnesota. They lived in the state of Washington after marriage where Marvin was stationed at Ft. Lewis while in the Army. After discharge, they returned to their home state of Minnesota to engage in farming until 1963 when they moved to California.
There Marvin milked cows for several years before starting a milk testing business. In 1980 Marvin moved his family to Idaho to fulfill a dream of starting a dairy. Due to health issues and the government dairy buy out, he went out of the business in 1986. At that time Marvin became a dairy feed salesman/nutritionist operating his own feed supplement business.
He and his wife Jeannette shared 61 years of marriage and had 13 children. Marlene(Andy) Zylstra of Modesto, California; Gary(Agnes)Vanden Bosch of Twin Falls; Dianne(Al) Bolt of Twin Falls; Donna(Bernie) Stuit of Ontario California; Dave(Julie) Vanden Bosch of Jerome; Vonnie(Ron) Bolt of Twin Falls; Doug (Juli) Vanden Bosch of Nampa; Darwin (Linda) Vanden Bosch of Jerome; Glenda(Gary) Bremer of Hauser Idaho; Dan Vanden Bosch of Jerome; Trudy(Vince) Zimmer of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Gregory Vanden Bosch and Marvin (Tammy) Vanden Bosch of Billings, Montana. Marvin is also survived by 37 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. When the total of parents, children, spouses, grandchildren and their spouses, and great grandchildren are totaled up, the family of Marvin and Jeannette Vanden Bosch totaled 101 at the time of Marvin's death.
Marvin enjoyed square dancing and had a passion for great food. He enjoyed oyster soup as a traditional birthday treat. He loved playing the game of Rook and shared many afternoons playing dominoes with his wife Jeannette. The last few years he looked forward to the senior lunches twice a week at the senior center in Jerome. Reading was also a favorite pastime reading 98 books in the last two and half years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Alice Vanden Bosch and sisters Viola and Carol, his daughter Dianne and son Gregory.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, May 11, 2014 from 6-8 PM at White Mortuary “Chapel by the Park” 136 4th Ave E. Twin Falls. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 11:30 AM at the Twin Falls Reformed Church 1631 Grandview Dr. N., Twin Falls. A private interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park for family and close friends.
The family would like to thank in home care-givers, Lettie, Gloria, Laura and Fabi , Dr. Cannon and his special nurses Kathy and Allison, and St. Luke’s Hospice and special nurse Rick.
In lieu of flowers donation can be made to the DKB fund(in Memory of Dianne K. Bolt) or the Mustard Seed of Twin Falls, Idaho.
