

Walter John Kaster, age 72, of Buhl passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Wally was born April 2, 1937 in Twin Falls, Idaho. He was the first born of Art and Irmgard Kaster. Wally attended school at Clover Lutheran School, and graduated from Filer High School (1955). Following graduation he served in the National Guard.
In September 1958 he married his best friend and the love of his life Ann Walters. This union was blessed with their three children. Of their 52 years of marriage they lived, farmed and ranched on the Clover tract. He was also an active member of his church Clover Trinity Lutheran, and an active supporter of Camp Perkins. During this time he tried many diverse hobbies and activities. Among them were golf, fishing, habitat for humanity, officiating sports activities, driving truck, traveling, hunting (favorite is goose hunting), avid pinochle player, massage therapist, avid reader and member of Bronco Nation. He loved his grandchildren, a most recently driving his Rhino (UTV). He was best known for his quick wit and clever sense of humor, and being the major of Clover.
Wally is survived by his loving wife Ann, one his son Guy (Cari) Kaster of Buhl, daughter Christie (Brian) Willford of Kimberly. Wally is also survived by five grandchildren; Amy (Bryan) Howard of Meridian, Andy McGrew of Houston, Cami, Sara and Morgan Kaster of Buhl; one sister MaryAnn (Phil) Weisen of Twin Falls, two brothers John (Myla) Kaster of San Antonio, Jerry (Pat) Kaster of Buhl and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one son Burton Kaster.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday March 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Clover Trinity Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be made in Wally’s name to the Clover School.
