It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Angelia Anne Gentry, affectionately known as Angi, who left us on March 14, 2025, at the age of 44, in her hometown of Tyler, Texas. Born on December 20, 1980, Angi was a vibrant soul whose spirit touched the lives of many.
Angi was the cherished daughter of Armando and Debbie Correa.
Growing up in Tyler, she developed a love for the outdoors, where she found joy in taking long walks and spending time by any body of water. Her passion for nature extended to her love of collecting crystals, each piece telling a story of beauty and wonder that echoed her own personality.
A natural extrovert, Angi was the life of the party, known for her infectious laughter and ability to make everyone around her smile. Her warmth and charisma brought joy to family gatherings and social events, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Angi leaves behind a loving family, including her three children: Jasmin Burks, 28, and her husband James Burks, Jr., Malik Lewis, 21, and Lucas Gentry, 5; along with her three grandchildren, Elijah, Jaide, and Chloe Burks. She is also survived by her older sister, Amanda Brock, her little brother, Andres Correa, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and special friends whose lives she enriched.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the compassionate staff at UT Tyler Hospital, who provided exceptional care and comfort in Angi's final days. Their dedication and kindness did not go unnoticed, as they did everything within their power to ensure her well-being.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Angi's life at her funeral service on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Lloyd James Funeral Home. This will be an opportunity to honor her memory, share stories, and reflect on the joy she brought into our lives.
Angelia Anne Gentry was a radiant light whose legacy of laughter and love will forever remain in our hearts. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Rest in peace, dear Angi.
