Bobbie Joyce Atkinson

Bobbie was born on March 16th, 1936 in Tyler. After she graduated from Tyler High she met and married the love of her life, Lindell Lee Atkinson, on June 29th, 1958 and spent the next 56 years together. Bobbie had many different jobs, but her favorite was being a wife and mother. While at home, she pursued her many creative talents by starting several at home businesses. She opened her own wedding cake business, she joined a book club and wrote several books, and she even started her own photography business. Photography was her greatest passion as represented by the numerous photos that are displayed throughout her home.

She is preceded in death by her husband Lee Atkinson, parents; Gladys and William Meek, step father S.J. Richey and brother Darrell Meek.

Bobbie is survived by her children; Debbie and her husband Wayne Todd, Dwayne Atkinson and his wife Kathy, brother Jerry Meek and his wife Paula, grandchildren; Kelly Bailey, Kasey Todd, Rebecca Atkinson, Chris Atkinson and Samantha Atkinson, great grandchildren; Briana and Sydney Fleming, Grace Atkinson and Ava Bailey.

The family would like to express thanks to the visiting angels, with special thanks to Susan and Tammie, as well as family friend M.J. for the love and care they showed to Bobbie.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, August 27, from 6:00-8:00pm. Celebration of life service will take place on Tuesday, August 28, at 10:00am at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of East Texas.
