

He was born on June 16, 1955, in Fairfield, Iowa, to Rex and Joann Hicks, where he was raised and later graduated from Fairfield High School in 1973.
Calvin proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Corporal during his four years of service. In 1984, he married Cindy Corey, and together they built a life and raised two children.
He dedicated more than 27 years of his career as a Commodities Transport Engineer—better known to many as a truck driver—at Ruan, where he was respected for his hard work and reliability.
In his free time, Calvin enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, playing basketball, solving Sudoku puzzles, testing his knowledge with trivia, and working in his yard. Above all else, he cherished his friends and family, his country, and his faith in God.
Calvin will be remembered as a dependable and kind-hearted man, known for his distinctive mustache, warm smile, and love of life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Joann Hicks, brother, Rex Hicks and his baby sister, Cindy.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Hicks; his brother, Dan Hicks; his sister, Linda Sisson; his daughter, Calie Hicks; and his son, Calvin Hicks, who was proudly named after him.
Calvin was deeply loved by his family, friends, and his trucking brothers. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
