Clara D. Smith was born on July 21,1926 and peacefully passed from her earthly home on August 13, 2023 at the age of 97. She was born in Richmond, Texas and grew up in Rosenberg, Texas. After marrying Richard Smith in 1945, she became a lifelong resident of Tyler, Texas. She was a member of Park Heights Baptist Church and worked at Coca Cola Bottling Company for many years. Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Richard and grandson, Chad. She is survived by her son, Dennis and wife, Sandy Smith of Plano, Texas and daughter, Susan and husband Bruce Elliott of Bullard, Texas. In addition, she had three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home in Tyler on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the American Red Cross in her memory.
