Words can't express the gratitude I have always felt toward you for everything you have done for our family. You were such a wonderful grandmother to Mikey and Brittany,and the best mother in law I could ever ask for.  I have always admired you for your ability to lovingly accept others for who and what they are, and to forgive unconditionally. I love you and will miss you so much, but will always carry you in my heart.

Oh my lovely Nena, I'm gonna miss you so much. I think what I'm going to miss most is doodling with you at ten o clock at night and then playing crazy 8 at the kitchen table until we got so tired we were delirious. I'm also going to miss all the sleep overs with little Britt Mikey and Ashton when we would bug the heck out of you and ask for ice cream when we KNEW it was bedtime! Boy we loved giving you a hard time. Now its you giving us a hard time. None of us were ready for you to leave, but I am so happy for you. All the happiness in the world and probably the most beautiful wings known to step through heavens gate. Your heart was bigger than mine could ever be. If i live up to be half the woman you were, I'd enter the gates of heaven a VERY grateful woman. Nena, I ask for one thing and one thing only...save a place for me and please save some grace for me :) hugs n kisses

Looking at the photo gallery brought back so many good memories!  I came into the Thornton family as a teenager and Nellie welcomed me so very warmly.  She became my surrogate sister for the 12 years I was in the family.  When the world loses someone like Nellie we are reminded of how quickly and easily we lose touch with those who have made a positive impact on our lives. I would talk with her sporadically throughout the years and each time it was as if mere days rather than years had passed since we last spoke.   She always has and always will hold a special place in my heart.  Her passing is a reminder to renew family and friendship relationships and to hold those we love closely.  RIP Jeanella, RIP.  Butch, Angie, Michael I will hold you closely in prayer that you will find peace and you will continue to celebrate her life with joy, laughter and much love.

I am at a loss for just what to say or who to say it to. Uncle Butch, Angie and Michael I have missed all of you and I am sorry that we lost touch so many years ago, but I have never stopped thinking about any of you, especially your wife/mom Aunt Nellie. I am so very sorry... I had no idea that she was so ill. She looks so much like mammaw in the photos and it is so hard to fathom, I can't imagine what you must be going through. I wish I wasn't so far away. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I love you all so much,
