Funeral services for Jimmy Dean Sloan, age 53 of Tyler, Texas are scheduled for 2 PM, Sunday, June 12th at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cary Ponder officiating. Interment will follow in Tyler Memorial Park. Jimmy went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his loving family at his side. He was born November 23, 1957 in Tyler, Texas to the late Herchel Dale and Oma Lee Byrd Sloan. He lived in Tyler most of his life working in paint and body. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Kim Sloan of Tyler. Daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Matthew Ferrell of Bullard. Daughter and son-in-law, Mandy and Jeremy Peek of Forney, Texas. Daughter Kay Sloan of Kaufman, Texas. Two sisters and brother-in-law; Debra Davlin of Hawkins and Linda and Terry Thedford of Flint; five grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Payton, Makayla, Dakota and Brennan. He was preceded in death by his brother, Herchel Sloan and father-in-law, Garry L. “Chief” Stroman. Pallbearers: Jeremy Peek, Bobby Woody, Matthew Ferrell, Rico Vasquez, Terry Hopkins and Perry Joe Smith.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Saturday, June 11.
