On November 27th 2024, Judy passed away peacefully at Tender Loving Elder Care aged 91yrs. Born in Enid Oklahoma, graduated from Garber High School where she excelled in typing and shorthand dictation. She received awards at state level.
After meeting and dating M. Duane Bierig, Judy and Duane married November 16th 1951. She did secretarial work in several locations as Duane served in the Army and for that reason they moved several times. Sons Gary Lee, Gregory Lane, & Brett (born at approximately 6 months and did not live) began coming in 1956, 1959, and 1961. She worked consistently as a homemaker and mother. Facilitated Sunday School and Bible Studies. Together she and her sister Louise sang special music in numerous East Texas Churches.
Preceded in death by husband, Duane Bierig; two sons, Gregory Lane and Brett; parents, Harry and Mildred Newkirk; four sister’s & a brother.
Survived by son, Gary Lee Bierig; grandsons, Micah Lee Bierig and Samuel Levi Bierig; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Judy’s life will take place on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024 at Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery at 2:00pm. The graveside service will take place at the Mausoleum area.
