

Judith "Judy" Johnson Kennedy, age 70, of Ingram, went home to be with her Savior Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014. Born May 13, 1944, in Napa, Idaho, Judy spent most of her life helping others. She was a homemaker, beauty operator, retail worker, one time real estate agent, and devoted military wife. She was
known for her huge heart, compassion for others and dedication to the less fortunate. Judy loved helping high-risk youth and was very deeply involved in social work within the community. Judy served on the board of directors and as board president for the Tyler Drug Abuse Program. She was a CASA volunteer, and spent countless hours helping at The Salvation Army. When she wasn't serving, Judy loved playing cards with her husband, Martin, and
their many friends. Martin adored his Judy and Judy adored her Martin. Together they loved God and they loved their church.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Martin Kennedy, of Ingram; her mother, Patricia Goforth, of Santa Maria, California; her older brother, Michael Johnson, of Nevada, and younger brother, Vernon Johnson, of Euless. Judy also is survived by three sons, Marty Kennedy (Beth), of Tyler, John Kennedy (Maribel), of Tyler, Michael Kennedy (Cathy); and one daughter, Laura Kennedy Long, also from Tyler. She was a loving and very proud grandmother to seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and her loving fourlegged daughter, Biscuit. Judy was a passionate woman who will be very missed by all who knew her. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is in Heaven with her Savior.
A viewing will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 Texas Highway 64 West, Tyler, 75704. Following that, at 3 p.m. will be the chapel service, with graveside immediately afterward in Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome.
There also will be a memorial service for Judy at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at Living Tree Baptist Church in Ingram.
