Julian Jamile Kates


It is with deep love and sorrow that we share the passing of our precious baby boy, Julian Jamile Kates, who went to be with Jesus on August 10, 2025.
Julian was the beloved son of Kaila Denise King and Elijah Braden Kates, and the cherished twin brother of Remi Raine Faith Kates. Though his time on earth was brief, Julian filled our hearts with joy from the very moment we knew he was coming.

From the womb, Julian was full of personality—always eager to show his face on the sonogram, as if to let the world know he was ready to meet it. He bore the sweet features of his daddy and the gentle spirit of his momma.

Julian is survived by his parents, Elijah Kates and Kaila King, his loving grandparents Amanda Nell Caton, Jenifer Kay Revis & Billy Dewayne Revis, Mary Caton-Pickett, Mary Ann King, Susan Kelly Edwards, Harry Wesley Kates, along with his great-grandfather (Pawpa) Michael Lee Caton, Vivian Jordan and his great godfather Claudraus “Boo” Dickens. He is also loved and remembered by many special aunts, uncles, and a countless number of cousins who will carry his memory forever.

He was preceded in death and welcomed in Heaven by his grandmother Rebecca Kates, Grandfather Jonathan King Sr, his Great-grandfather Willie King, Great-grandmother Vickey Bell-Caton, Great-aunt "Meme" Jennifer Caton-Medina and his Uncle Jonathan King Jr., who now cradle him in eternal love until we meet again.

Our baby boy’s life, though short, is a forever part of our hearts, and his memory will always be carried with us in Gladewater, Texas, and beyond.
