With heavy hearts and surrounded by family, Dianne passed from this life, to her heavenly home, on Thursday June 26th, 2025. It broke our hearts to lose her, but we have comfort in knowing that she is now with her husband, Earney Lee, and her two sons, Michael and Earney Jr.
Linda Dianne Merworth was born on April 5th, 1954 in Birmingham, Alabama to Virginia and Glen Merworth.
She married the love of her life, Earney Lee Maker Sr., on June 5th, 1970 in Stanton, Texas. Together, they made their home in Midland for the next 33 years. Earney preceded her in death on April 29th, 2003.
Dianne had a great love for her children, as well as all of her nieces, nephews, brother, sister and mother. She loved having them all over to play board games, and was always taking all the kids on outings. Oh, and she really knew how to throw amazing slumber parties! Dianne never met a stranger. The struggle of the Spillers family drew her to them. She fell in love with the family and took great joy sharing in their triumph over great tribulation.
Anyone that knew Dianne also knew that she was an avid fisherman and loved camping out. As she grew older, the joy of her life came in the form of three triplet grandchildren, Earney, Elizabeth and Alex Maker. Dianne had a beautiful heart and was loved by so many people in her life. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, David Miller-Maker, and husband, Gordon Miller-Maker of Palestine; mother, Virginia Gibson of Copperas Cove; brother, Brandon Merworth and wife Cricket of Angelton; sister, Donna Flores and husband Ines of Copperas Cove; Grandchildren, Elizabeth Maker of Pritchett, Alexander Maker of Midland and Earney Maker III of Del Rio. She is also survived by half-sisters, Glenda Stinnett and husband Ray, and DeDee Williamson; step-brothers, Danny Fatheree and wife Angelica, Allen Briggs and wife Lavene all of Arkansas; step-sisters, Ardith Gibson of Brownwood, Judy Woolis of Odessa; as well as numerous cousins, and aunts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earney Maker Sr.; children, Michael Dewayne Maker and Earney Maker Jr.; half sisters, Amanda Merworth and Krystal Norman; step-brother, Bruce Gibson; and step-father, W. L. "Hoot" Gibson; and father, Glen Merworth.
