Loyd has always been hard working. He was in the US Navy and was a Korean War Veteran. After that, he worked as a welder and always provided for his family. He met Estelle when he was 22. He was trying to make a phone call and Estelle was the operator. He ended up talking to her instead and they hit it off immediately. They finally agreed to meet and the rest is history. They were married for 61 years and had two sons, Loyd Jr. and Mark.
Loyd loved his family and took care of them. He was also a grandfather, great grandfather and they all called him “Pop.” He thought the world of them. He was always there for them and would do anything for his family.
Some of the things he did with his grandkids was staying up with them and having movie nights with popcorn and coke, camping out in the camper, taking them to Walmart and letting them pick out a toy. He loved to hold his grandkids and loved to be around them. They were special to him and he was special to them.
He never had any daughters so he adopted his daughters-in-law and said they were like his own. He always loved to tease and make others laugh.
Loyd is survived by his sons, Loyd Hamilton Hendrick Jr. and wife Sheri of Tyler, and Mark Hendrick and wife Shari of Kilgore; brother, Raymond Hendrick of Greenville, Mississippi; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Loyd is preceded in death by his loving wife, Estelle Hendrick.
