Beth was not only my co-worker for 22 years, but she was also a dear friend to me and I have always thought of her my work-mother. She supported me through the loss of my husband and most recently through the loss of my mother.  I appreciate, so much, all of the prayers that I know she said for me during those difficult days. We were cubicle neighbors, working across from each other over these past 6 or so years. Beth would always greet me with a "Good Morning" and a "And how are you?" I could always count on a smile from her every morning. I loved how she would talk about her dear family and I loved hearing about all of you through her.  She loved you all so very much. I will miss Beth's words of wisdom that she would share.  I don't think I ever remember hearing her say "you need to do this" instead she would share wisdom to help me see the situation in a new light. I was so excited for her when she retired!  She had great plans of gardening and of course spending time with Charlie and her boys.  I thought I loved the Christmas season, but I can promise you Beth loved it more than me.  I can remember her talking of starting to write down a decorating plan on her calendar in August. I always wanted to see her house at Christmas because I know it is like a Christmas wonderland with all of her trees. I will miss hearing about Gaston the alligator that came on  Christmas Eve.  I am making it a point to get that book! Anytime I could find an alligator ornament, I would get it for Beth. So many precious memories.  Beth was a beautiful woman on the inside and out.  She touched my life in so many different ways. I am grateful for the opportunity of knowing her and calling her my friend.  I know there has been rejoicing in Heaven since she arrived.  I imagine her joining right in with decorating Heaven for Christmas! May you rest in peace, Beth.  Until we meet again...

And I will never forget when she became a great-grandmother when my daughter Viviane Lee was born. She was there for me during the painful times of loss leading up to us having children. I remember she came all the way to the hospital in Dallas just to be with me when we lost our first baby and 3 years later,  she drove 3 hours to Bryan to be with me and my family so she could meet Vivi on her first day on this earth. She never failed to be there if I needed her. 

I was also honored when she let me wear her beautiful pearls for my “something borrowed.” 

I have so many memories to share of this precious woman. Neenaw was always there for me. From my earliest memories, I have always felt love, strength, and comfort from her. My heart breaks now that she’s no longer here on this earth with us, but I rejoice in knowing that she is with her Precious Savior. I only hope I can be as good a grandmother as she was to me.  I will always miss her. 

The semester before Eliu and I were married, I would come over to Papa and Neenaw’s every Thursday and they would teach me different recipes to make to “prepare” me for marriage 😝 These were some of my most precious times spent with Neenaw. Not only would she pass along recipes, but also a wealth of stories, wisdom, and most of all love.
