Robert E. Smith

Robert Earl Smith, 90, of Lindale, Tx passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017. Mr. Smith was born on July 13, 1926 in Lindsay, CA. He served in the U S Navy during World War II. He worked for Shell Oil Company as a Mechanic #1 for over 30 years. After retiring he and his family moved to Chester, Ca where he worked for Collins Lumber and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He moved to Lindale, Tx in 2014 to live with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Bertha R. Smith, his parents, Earl and Minnie (Bodenhamer) Smith, both of his sisters, Pauline Stotts and Barbara Stone, his daughter Sharon Nemetz and son Richard Williams.

He is survived by his sons and daughters in law, Mark and Susan Williams of Lindale, Tx and Brian and Gina Frankenstein of Clayton, North Carolina. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sherry Nemetz and Ray and Lisa Nemetz of Bakersfield, Ca; Richard and Michelle Matthews of Lindale, Tx; Laura Creech of Bakersfield, CA; Scott and Susan Williams of Cowetta, Oklahoma ; and Winter Frankenstein of Clayton, North Carolina; his 6 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Everyone who knew him, loved him. He will be missed but we know he is in a better place.
