

Roger, a retired pumper for Chevron, was born on May 7, 1947 in Hays, KS to Raymond and Almeda Marie (Kuhn) Scheck. He grew up and attended school in Gorham, KS; attending St. Mary's Catholic School and Gorham Rural High School, graduating in 1965. Following high school, he enlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam. Following his military service, he met and married Cynthia Jean Bailey on November 24, 1969; together, they had two children. He worked for oil field supply and servicing companies. He then went to work for Skelley Oil & Gas Co., Getty Oil Co., Texaco Co. and Chevron. He met and married his second wife, Clarice Marie Branda on December 26, 1978. Together, they enjoyed 37 years of marriage.
After 43 1/2 years of service and through the many buyouts that occurred during his tenure, he retired in 2014.
He was a craftsman who loved carpentry, landscaping and woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his parents; as well as a niece, Cherie Scheck in 1983.
He is survived by his wife, Clarice of Tyler, TX; children; Tony Scheck of Wichita, KS, Tane' Barenberg of Hays, KS, Roger, and his wife, Elisabeth Scheck of Winston Salem, NC, Amber, and her husband, Jonathan Leininger of Tyler, TX. He is also survived by his siblings, Alan, and his wife Carol Scheck of Hays, KS; Roxann Hoffman of Norton, KS; as well as nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
