Miss Messer was born on February 18, 1930 in Woodville, Oklahoma to B.R. and Elmina Belle Lawhorn Messer and went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2015, succumbing to pneumonia peacefully at The Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.
She graduated from Tyler High School and became the bookkeeper for Thompson-Hills Nursery. Rosa loved her church and the members of Southside Church loved her and made sure to take her to church when she could go. Loving to read, they supplied her with books and encouragement. She deeply enjoyed the Wednesday night services Central Baptist church provided at Pinecrest Nursing Home.
Miss Messer is survived by a sister, Ruby Camp and husband J.C.; nephews, Dwayne Odom, James Hardin, Ron and Randy Camp, Jerry Gwin; and nieces, Donna Libhart, Mary Helen Wyble, Jodie Andrews, Sandy Stewart and Sue Ellen Wilson. She also has many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Miss Messer was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dan, George and R.B.; sisters, Inez Gwin, and Annie Mae Hardin; nephews, Larry Don Hardin and Steve Messer.
Those touched by Rosa will miss her and we know she would like to thank Pinecrest and The Hospice of East Texas for the care she received.
