

Stacey Dean Swiney, age 48, passed away on August 17, 2025, in Grand Saline Texas. He was born on June 25, 1977, in Tyler, Texas to Thomas Lee Swiney and Sheilia Diane Cotton. Stacey was raised in Ben Wheeler Texas and graduated Van Highschool in 1996. Stacey joined the Army in 1997 at the age of 20. While in the Army he became a staff sgt. He worked 12 years as a wheeled vehicle mechanic, 3 years as a chaplain assistant. Stacey was part of the 82nd Airborne division and served his country proudly. He was stationed in Korea and Afghanistan. Stacey retired from the Army and was honorably medically discharged. Overall, he received 18 medals for his hard work and dedication. After the Army Stacey worked as a mechanic and a truck driver. He married Towana Sue Swiney in 2021, and the couple had 8 combined children. In his spare time he enjoyed playing video games with his kids, riding motorcycles, working on cars, gardening, fishing, and going to the car races, going to church spreading the gospel, and loving everyone.
Stacey is preceded in death by his wife, Gail Swiney, daughters, Shelby and Maddie Swiney, mother, Sheila Faulkner, brother, Joshua Adkins.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Swiney, sons, Taylor Mecum, Mason Swiney, Riley Swiney, Gabriel Dowell, James Dowell and daughter Alyssa King, sisters, Miranda Unruh, Jennifer Swiney, Kaitlin Seely, Valerie Philips, Lorie Shaver, Beverly Johnson, brothers, Thomas Swiney Jr, David Schnickles, Jordan Adkins, grandchildren, Marcus Swiney and Joel Swiney, parents, Thomas and Alice Swiney, and Robert Faulkner
He was a faithful member of New Testament Holiness Church, where he served on the church board and the security team. He was proud to serve his country, and all his hope was in Jesus. He will be most deeply missed by all that loved and knew him.
