Stella Marie Johnson

Stella Marie (Bullard) Johnson, 90, of Tyler was born March 16, 1923 in Mt. Vernon, Texas to William Lawson Bullard and Lottie Bell (Steelman) Bullard. She went Home to be with her Saviour on December 4, 2013.

Stella worked at Sledges as a seamstress before marrying Thurman, her husband of 60 years. She severed her family as a homemaker and assisted her husband with his business. She loved gardening, sewing, quilting and canning preserves. She was a Sunday School Teacher at the Church of God in Tyler. The Johnsons then became members of Victory Assembly of God in Tyler, where she served faithfully by helping in many ways for 43 years.

She never hesitated to care for others when the need arose, putting their needs above her own. Her bright eyes and warm smile welcomed friends and family alike.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lottie Bell Bullard, daughter Kaye Barnett and husband Thurman Lee Johnson, 7 brothers and 5 sisters.

She is survived by 2 daughters and their husbands, Sarah and Randy Blanton of Hurst, Jena and Kevin Husketh of Tyler and son-in-law Danny Barnett of Tyler, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that Memorial donations be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Dr., Tyler, TX 75701

Visitation will be Sunday December 8th 3:00 – 6:00 P.M.

Her "Home Going Celebration" will be Monday December 9th @ 11:00 A.M.

both will be at Victory Assembly of God 2915 SSE Loop 323 Tyler, Tx. 75701

Interment will follow at Tyler Memorial Cemetery, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler.
