Truman Dale Stamps, age 74, passed away February 1, 2011. He was born October 12, 1936 in Chapel Hill, Texas. It was there he attended local schools growing up. Truman enlisted into the United States Air Force and served his country for over eight years. Then in 1962 he met and married Billie Sue Smith and they were happily married for the next 48 years until his passing. Truman worked for the Good Year Plant in Tyler for 32 years until he retired.
Truman is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Billie Sue Stamps, daughter Terri Stamps of Tyler, son Steven Stamps of Ben Wheeler, grandson Wade Stamps of Ben Wheeler, brothers Aubry Stamps of Fort Worth and Truitte Stamps of Tyler.
Truman is preceded in passing by his son Alan Stamps who passed away in 1993.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2011 in the Windsor Mausoleum at Tyler Memorial Cemetery, Tyler starting at 3pm. There will be a time of visitation that day in the mausoleum starting at 2pm.
