He was born to Eulalia and Laurence Goulart on May 28, 1953. After graduating from Norwich Free Academy, Brian followed in his father's footsteps and began what would be a long career at Northeast Utilities. Working as a Control Room Operator in Montville, and a member of the IBEW, he enjoyed engaging in union activities and took pride in his many contributions to the workplace. Brian made lifelong friends on the job.
An avid sportsman, Brian enjoyed hunting and fishing. A regular at the gun club with his twin boys, he traveled annually to Camp Perry in Ohio so they could compete in the National Matches, a national shooting sports festival. Among Brian's proudest moments was when his sons earned marksmanship honors in their respective police academies-- a testament to their father's devotion to their craft at a young age.
Known for his particular sense of humor, Brian often entertained friends and family with wild stories from his youth, or a "dad" or "old man" joke. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them new skills and making them laugh. A discerning man and a strong advocate, Brian was always there for those who needed him. His personality was memorable, and he will be forever in our hearts.
Brian's legacy is strong in the family he left behind. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elinor, his daughter Katherine (Scott Ennis) Goulart, his son Kevin (Amy) Goulart, and his son David (Valerie Weaver) Goulart. Brian leaves behind grandchildren Zaine, Joseph, Wyatt, Kingston, Logan, Audrey, and Ada. He is survived by his brother Lawrence Goulart Jr. Brian also leaves behind Matthew (Diana) Sagen, who was like a son to him.
The family wishes to thank Alice, Khum, Kidist, Nikki, Nora, Sanora, Shi, and Tricia for caring for Brian and becoming a part of the family. You were truly special to him, and for that, we are forever grateful.
