Robert E Bernier

He was born in Norwich, CT on October 2nd, 1981 to Larry and Kathleen (Heberding) Bernier. On May 17, 2008, Shortly after completing high school, he married his soul mate, Stacy A. Condry at the Mohegan Church in Uncasville, CT.

Robert, or “Rob” as he was also called, worked as an Engineering Clerk for the Mohegan Tribe. Even though diagnosed with muscular dystrophy as a child, Robert never let his physical condition prevent him from maintaining a positive attitude and enjoying life every day. He was a Mohegan Tribal member and enjoyed fishing, going to the beach, playing video games and driving a good fast car. His greatest joy however, was spending time with his family.

Robert is survived by his parents, Larry & Kathleen Bernier, his wife Stacy Bernier, paternal grandparents; Earl and Marie Bernier, son; Andrew Christopher Bernier, daughter; Madison Meryl Bernier, brother; Steven Bernier and his wife Heather, sister; Pamela Massey and her husband Craig, 1 niece, 4 nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents; Milton and Meryl Heberding.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8pm at the Montville Funeral Home of Church & Allen, 53 Norwich-New London Tnpk., Uncasville, CT. with Graveside Services held FRIDAY Feb 14th, 11am at the Fort Shantok Burial Ground in Uncasville, CT. (Previously scheduled for Thursday however, changed to Friday due to expected inclement weather on Thursday)

Robert’s family is eternally grateful for the love, compassion, and care that he received while being a patient at Hartford Hospital. The love and courage they showed while caring for him will always be treasured. That kind of care is hard to find and greatly appreciated.
