Anthony Aversa

Anthony Aversa 88, of North Bergen, passed away on Thursday 3/1/2018. He was born in Torca, Italy and lived most of life in North Bergen. He was a garment worker for the ILGWU in New York for many years before retiring. Anthony was a member of the Veronica’s Veil Guild, St. Joseph Catholic Club and an usher at Sts. Joseph and Michael Church.

He was the beloved husband of Anna Aversa (nee. Toscana). He was the devoted father of Louis (Melissa) Aversa, Bridget (Stephan) Hogan and Rosalie (Frank) Mescall. He was the dear brother of Victor, Umberto and the late Luigi Aversa. He was also the loving grandfather of Anthony (Coleen), Loriann and Jaime Aversa, Kyle and Ryann Dyer, Bridget Ann Hogan, Melissa Maione, Natalie (Brian) Rivieccio, Stephanie and Martin Hogan, Anne, Andrew and Francesca Mescall as well as 6 great grandchildren.

The funeral will be on Monday 3/5/18 at 9am from the Leber funeral Home then to St. Anthony Church where at 10am a mass will be offered. The entombment will follow at Madonna Mausoleum. The visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 7pm.
