Doris C. Julian

Doris C. Julian, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 in Mountainside, NJ. Born in Newark, Doris lived in Union for many years. She earned a B.S. from Panzer College where she was elected to the Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Doris worked as a teacher for many years at Union High School and various elementary schools in town, as well as St. Michael’s in Newark and St. Patrick’s in Elizabeth. She also belonged to the Presbyterian Women and served as a deacon and elder at Connecticut Farms Church in Union. She was also a member of the Golden Age Club in Union.

Doris was predeceased by her beloved husband Maurice. She leaves behind her loving children John and his wife Kathleen, Donna Zaleski and her husband Stanley, and Cathy Sharp. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Dawn Malinowski, Brian Julian, Diana Cantone, Katie Oliver, and Greg Sharp, as well as 7 great-grandchildren; her sister Jane Sodano, and niece Janet Rittweger-Burns.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 1, 2013 from 5-8 PM at the McCracken Funeral Home 1500 Morris Ave Union NJ. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Saturday, November 2 at 9:30AM with the service beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris’ name may be made to the Fanwood Presbyterian Church Food Bank 74 S. Martine Ave. Fanwood, NJ 07076.
