

Eva Mae Simpson-Hawkins, at the age of 91 of Hillside, New Jersey slept away on February 2, 2021. Eva was born on February 3, 1929 to the late Willie and Aretha (Clark) Simpson in, Cairo, Georgia, Grady County. Eva received her education in the Pelham school system.
She later married in holy matrimony to Elder Edward Hawkins the only love of her life. Sister Eva Mae Hawkins is preceded in death by her belated husband Elder Edward Hawkins, from this union 8 children were conceived. Geraldine Hawkins of Plainsboro, NJ, Edward Hawkins of Hillside, NJ, Cavalian-Louis Hawkins (Alma) of Sylmar, CA, Diane Hawkins-Jones of Swansea, SC, Cleveland Hawkins (Carolie) of Brooklyn, NY, Deacon Ronald Hawkins of Newark, NJ, her special caretaker daughter Daryl-Elaine Hawkins of Hillside, NJ last but not least Deacon Eugene Hawkins of Hillside, NJ.
Adopted sister in Christ Adele Norwood, of Atlanta, GA, adopted sons Shawn Graham, Terry Brooks. Her God daughter Marella Turner. Special friend, Younnia Wells-Blanchard. Her adopted son and daughter, Elder Alfonso and Vivian Tolliver. Grandchildren : Sonserae, Andre, Tony, (Angie) (Lambert) Simone Hawkins-Flete, (John) Matthew Hawkins; Great-grandchildren: Nyema Herring, (Vance) Isiah Johnson, Justin Lambert. Great-great grandchildren: Chase, (Money), Parsley, Jaiden Herring. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.
She leaves to cherish in her memory 2 brothers Johnny Simpson of St. Petersburg, FL, Curtis Young of Linden, NJ. Sister in-laws Peggy Simpson, Bernice Hawkins, Mildred Ragland.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Albert Simpson, Lois Simpson-Gray, Willie Jr. Simpson.
Sister Eva Mae Hawkins relocated to New Jersey, she was an avid laborer of many trades, homemaker, sous chef, CNA. Most of all she was a Godly, loving, caring mother not only to her children, others as well.
True patriot of the family! A woman of great compassion and faithfulness and was loved by all she encountered. She was known by Mom, Grandma, Queen, Angel, Butterfly, Aunt Eva, Friend, most of all she was aka Sister Hawkins a virtuous. Who we all respected cherished and loved. She was a woman of great wisdom . Reflected a growly spirit home everyone loved being in her presence.
