

Eva Richkus nee Krutulis ,100, died peacefully at home on Wednesday February 15, 2012. Friends and family may call on Monday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union, NJ. Funeral from the McCracken Funeral home on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 9:30 a.m. with a mass being offered at Christ the King Church, Hillside, N.J at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ.
Born and raised in Old Forge, PA, Eva had resided in Hillside for over 75 years. She was a member of the Tuesday Club at Christ the King Church and was in involved in the Knights of Lithuania. She epitomized the role of saintly mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was revered by a host of nieces and nephews. She was known for her skills at crocheting and knitting. Her cooking and baking abilities were also greatly admired. Her everlasting legacy to all who knew and loved her was her tremendous sense of humor and her ability to make everyone feel at home and laugh. Her most memorable phrase which she used time and time again was "life is beautiful!". She will be greatly missed, but the stories that she told will be passed on to future generations. Eva's spirit will live within each and every family member for all time. Beloved wife of 50 years to the late Charles W. Richkus. Cherished mother of Dolores Mohelsky, Raymond Richkus, William Richkus, and Eve Vogt. Dear sister to Margaret Pinter; the late Helen Mochnal, Mary Trager, Stanley, William, and Joseph Krutulis. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eva's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 507 Westminster Avenue, Elizabeth NJ, 07208.
