

Evelyn F. Staba, devoted mother of Judith Orvos (husband Paul) died at home in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 2, 2016. Born on July 15, 1923, in Newark, N.J., Evelyn resided in New Jersey until moving to Washington in 2008. A wake for her will be held on Friday, Oct. 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Holy Spirit R.C. Church, 971 Suburban Road, Union, with interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Bloomfield, N.J. A graduate of The Presbyterian School of Nursing in Newark, Evelyn served in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps. She was employed as a registered nurse at Newark Presbyterian Hospital, The Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company of Newark, and St. Catherine of Siena Convent in Caldwell, N.J. Mrs. Staba was predeceased by her husband, John. In addition to her daughter and son-in-law, she is survived by many members of her extended family. In lieu of flowers, the famly requests memorial donations to the John A.
